The register
Members who have committed in public
Use it like a preferred-supplier list: these suppliers have signed the Trust Standard. Membership is a commitment, not an audit.
The register is opening
Founding members are being invited now, and each one is listed only once a director has signed. If you supply yachts and you want to be among the first, here is how to join.
For owners, charter guests and managers
You do not need to take our word, or anyone's. Ask your captain, your manager or your broker where the orders go and why, and prefer suppliers who have committed in public. Three questions to put to any supplier:
- Do you pay, or have you ever offered, any commission or benefit to the person who places an order, other than a disclosed one on the invoice?
- Are you a member of the TransparentSea register, and may I see your policy?
- If a discount or rebate applies, will it appear on the invoice that I see?
There is also a letter template for asking who else is paid on your charter.
Read this before you rely on it
- The register shows who has made a commitment. It is not an audit, a certificate or an endorsement.
- Not being on it proves nothing. Membership is voluntary, and the register is new.
- A listing lapses by itself if a member does not renew.
- If you have evidence that a member has broken the commitment, tell us, privately.
